Share market update: FMCG shares trade higher; Marico gains 2%

Markets getty 1NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were up in Wednesday’s morning session with their sectoral index trading higher.

Shares of Marico (up 2.16 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (up 2.09 per cent) , Dabur IndiaNSE 0.36 % (up 1.47 per cent) and Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 1.09 per cent) were trading in the green.

Godrej Industries (up 0.73 per cent) , Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.50 per cent) , United Spirits (up 0.49 per cent) and EmamiNSE -0.27 % (up 0.46 per cent) too were trading with gains.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.14 per cent up at 30,114.10 around 11:06 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32 points at 11,745.20 while the BSE Sensex was up 179.85 points at 39,236.50.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, SAIL, DLF, Bank of Baroda, YES Bank, SBI, Ashok Leyland, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, HPCL, Zee Entertainment, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
