Share market update: PSU bank shares fall; Bank of Baroda down 4%
NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the negative zone in Friday’s morning session.
Shares of Bank of Baroda (down 3.76 per cent) , Union Bank of IndiaNSE 0.34 % (down 3.47 per cent) , Canara BankNSE -0.05 % (down 2.87 per cent) and Bank of India (down 2.56 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 2.32 per cent) , Syndicate Bank (down 1.89 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (down 1.86 per cent) and Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. (down 1.26 per cent) too were trading in the red.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 2.19 per cent down at 2450.70 around 10:44 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 8.35 points at 10,974.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 10.94 points at 37,093.34.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, JSPL, SAIL, NHPC, L&T Fin Holding and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
